It is going to open those areas in creating writing and critical reading of literature which were rather not thought as we were in amnesia of pandemic. We may see seminars and conference on 'Literature and Epidemic'.

The main aim of this blog is that, assign the task given by Dr. Dilip Barad sir.

so, let's start with brief introduction  of the novel, The Plague(French :- La Paste)

The Plague by Albert Camus

The Plague (French: La Peste) is a novel by Albert Camus, Published in 1947,that tells the story of a Plague sweeping the french Algerian city of Oran. It asks a number of questions relating to the nature of destiny and  the human condition. The characters in the book, ranging from doctors to vacationers to fugitives, all help to show the effects the plague has on a populace.

The novel is believed to be based on the cholera epidemic that killed a large proportion of Oran's population in 1849 following French  colonization, but the novel is set in the  1940s. The Plague is considered an existentialist classic despite cambus's objection to the label.

The novel has been read as an allegorical treatment  of the French  resistance to Nazi occupation during World War II. The Plague represents how the world deals with the philosophical notion of the Absurd , a theory that Camus himself helped to define.

Now, here i would like to write my 'initial impressions' after reading and watching videos resources and the reading of  Gujarati translation of  the novel by Paresh Vyas. these all resources given by sir, which i would like mention here as well.

There is no more important book to understand our time than Albert Camus's book, The Plague, a novel about virus that spread uncontrollably from animals to humans and end up with destroying half of the population of a representative modern town.

Humanity- human self-centeredness vs human sacrifice

Human are a social species where survival and wellbeing depend upon cohesion with the social group. When we look at the human self-centeredness vs human sacrifice, then we know very well about self-centeredness at all, but the human sacrifice is more important, when we look at the basic definition of self-sacrifice is the giving up of one's own best interest for the sake of someone or something else's. This is where we run into a problem right here. ln each and every calamities or this type of epidemic, there is the conflict or examine of human self-centeredness vs human sacrifice. There were some people, who are self-centeredness, of course there were also some human sacrifice as well like in this covid19 we can see the duty Doctor, nurse, cleaners, all are gave up their interest or aim and only cure the patient with one of the dot of human sacrifice.

Science vs Religion-the question of god and religion in times of epidemic and calamities

of course, science play a vital role for survival/cure from this type of calamity, but on the other side,  There is always religion have to threatened the people,as it know all, and according to religion, the causes of this type of  epidemic/calamity is that the result of the overwhelmed  of sin pot.we can also see one example of The Plague, the priest's preaching  to their follower as he threatened their follower from god's punishment. same as this is occured  now a day of covid19, for example Nizamuddin-Tabligi Jamat's main owner preaching to their follower as threatened from God/allah.so many example can we find , some good religion man is there but still religion harm a lot.but science always ready for all the situation and only and only science can cure/survive the people from this type of calamities.
