Thinking Activity on Wordsworth and Coleridge.

# Thinking Activity on the view points of  wordsworth and coleridge on poem:

Hello readers!

I am the student of English language and literature. Here my intend to write this blog as a task given by Dr. DilipBarad sir, so let's start.

# Brief note on the views of Wordsworth and Coleridge on poem:

# wordsworth's views on poem:

As we know that wordsworth was famous for his poem especially the poem of nature.
Here we can  discuss briefly about wordsworth's views on poem, how he thought about should be and not, and which elements  should be required.

Poetry according to wordsworth, 'is the breath and finer spirit of all knowledge, the impassioned expression that is in the countenance of all science'

Wordsworth also argue that poetry should be written in the real language of common man, rather than in the lofty and elaborate dictions that were then considered "poetic".

# Coleridge's views on poem:

In ' Biographia Literaria'  Coleridge's views on nature and function of poetry is discussed in philosophical terms. He believes that greatest poetry is that which achieves synthesis among elements, emotions and attitudes. He was also gave importance  of  elements of mystery, wonder and supernatural.

#  To A Butterfly with reference to view points of wordsworth#

                             To A Butterfly

Stay near me-do not take thy flight!
A little longer stay in sight!
Much converse do I find in thee,
Historian of my infancy!
Float near me;do not yet depart!
Dead times revive in thee:
Thou brig'st, gay creature as thou art!
A solemn image to my heart,
My father's family!
Oh! Pleasant, pleasant were the days,
The time, when, in our childish plays,
My sister Emmeline and I
Together chased the butterfly!
A very hunter did I rush
Upon the prey :-with leaps and springs
I followed on from brake to bush
The dust from off it's wings.

This short and sweet poem is wordsworth's own so, definitely it is made by the aspect and view of wordsworth's own, this poem is also considered as a nature poem, based on Butterfly, which is symbol of beauty and liked by all that's why the butterfly doesn't feel free and stay from human beings, but here the poet and his sister chased upon as a hunter and finally brake to bush the dust from off it's wings that's very painful for butterfly.
